Point Of Sales (POS)

This app must be created to simplifies transactions, tracks inventory in real-time, and provides business owners with clear sales insights — solving manual calculation issues, inventory mismatches, and end-of-day confusion.

The result: faster checkouts, fewer mistakes, and the ability for owners to step back from daily operations.

A Brief Story

A local café owner managed their business manually:

  • Cashiers wrote down each order, calculated totals by hand, and marked payment status.
  • Inventory was tracked on paper, updated at the end of each day — often forgotten or inaccurate.
  • End-of-day sales reports were summed manually, which took ~30 minutes daily.
  • Owner had to be on-site every day to verify income and stock.

Approach

We developed POS System, a custom web-based POS app accessible via laptop or tablet. It includes:

Cashier Dashboard:
  • Add/Scan products to cart with one click
  • Automatic price calculation
  • Apply discounts or promotions
  • Payment method selection (Cash, QRIS)
Inventory Sync:
  • Stock auto-deducted after each sale
  • Manual stock adjustment for spoilage or restock
  • Low-stock badge alert on dashboard
Sales Reports:
  • Daily, weekly, and monthly summaries
  • Export to Excel (for bookkeeping or tax reporting)
  • Top selling items

Impact on the Business

Faster Transactions:
  • Time per order reduced from ~3 minutes to ~1 minute
  • Resulted in shorter lines and smoother peak hour operations
Inventory Confidence:
  • Stock mismatch issues (previously ±5-10 items/week) dropped to near zero
  • Owner now knows when to restock, based on real data
Time Saved:
  • End-of-day reporting time dropped from 30 minutes to under 5 minutes
  • Owner now checks sales from home or phone, no longer tied to store presence
